LAN Argentina authorized to fly from Aeroparque to Chile and Brazil

The National Civil Aviation Administration (ANAC) authorized the airline LAN Argentina to operate the routes of Santiago de Chile and San Pablo from Aeroparque, which had been requested by the company in 2010 and that the ANAC itself had dismissed with a resolution in 2011 .

Since the resolution 346, which in March 2010 determined the internationalization of Aeroparque Jorge Newbery, the different companies that at that time operated to and from those destinations from Ezeiza, requested permission to operate from Aeroparque regional routes, mainly to Brazil and Chile .

Thus, Aerolíneas, LAN Argentina and Austral Líneas Aéreas, which were later joined by Gol, TAM and LAN Airlines (LAN Chile) began their operations in the neighboring countries, allowing also the connection in Aeroparque of the domestic flights, saving time to the passengers when avoiding the connecting transfer to Ezeiza.

However, on December 6, 2011, the ANAC issued resolution 994, which terminated internationalization for LAN Argentina. As of that date, the company which is based in our country, but with Chilean capital, had to return operations of these routes from Ezeiza.

Later, Alejandro Granados, head of ANAC, argued that Aeroparque was very congested, but a week earlier he had authorized Austral on new regional routes. The measure did not affect LAN Chile, which could continue operating to Santiago from Aeroparque without problems.

After the change of government on December 10, 2015, LAN Argentina submitted to ANAC a repeal request of the resolution that did not allow them to fly to Chile and Brazil.  It was finally decided to repeal resolution 994 and establish again the internationalization of the Aeroparque for LAN Argentina.

Event at Argentinean Embassy in London

Thanks to the support of the INPROTUR we are glad to share the success of a great event we organized last November at the Argentinean Embassy in the United Kingdom in London continuing the  promotion of Argentina within the British market.

Special guests enjoyed a high-end variety of Argentinean wines of Salentein, Tempus Alba and Casa de Uco wineries, in combination with our traditional “empanadas” and a very intimate live tango performance.
