Argentina is also a land of Tulips.

Every October in PATAGONIA, the horizon becomes a magical tapestry of red, yellow, lilac, white, black and pink tulips with the mountains in the back of the scenery.

A unique and ephemeral spectacle, Tulips fill the valley with colours in Trevelin area (26 kms away from Esquel). Due to the favourable conditions of the climate and soil, the results are very.  Currently, just over three hectares of its farm are dedicated to the cultivation of twenty-seven varieties of tulips that extend in rows of up to four hundred meters.

A local producer decided to open his doors to show the world his initiative and welcomes visitors that wants to see the amazing landscape. They can be seen preferably in the second half of the month .

The production of these flowers is not simple and demands meticulous and almost handmade work all year round. The bulbs are planted in May with a special machine that deposits them at the same depth. In August the leaves of the tulips already start to appear and a control is made plant by plant, to detect any viruses and remove the tulips that have any disease. The first days of October, as if by magic, fragile and colourful open their petals to the sun. The postcard only lasts a month and a half, at best, if the strong Patagonian winds, some drizzle or frost, do not punish them before. In mid-November, the flowers are cut by hand one by one. In January, the bulbs are harvested with machinery brought from the Netherlands and taken to a storage plant. There they are separated according to their size and stored in a temperature-controlled storage chamber. The bulbs selected for sale leave for the buyer in special transports)

Destination can be combined with the most amazing National Parks of the Andes Mountain range. Images that will always be remembered. ..”

Forbes: Machupicchu is one of world’s perfect destinations to visit in 2020

The Inca citadel of Machupicchu —located in Peru’s southern Cusco region— continues drawing the attention of world tourism, which turned it into one of the New Seven Wonders of the World in 2007. This time, Forbes —the prestigious international business and finance magazine— includes it in a select list of The 20 Best Places To Visit In 2020.

Crafted by the Ovation Travel Group at the request of the U.S. publication, the list considers Machupicchu along with six other destinations in Latin America: Bariloche and Mendoza (Argentina), Atacama and Vira Vira (Chile), as well as Cabo San Lucas and San Miguel de Allende (Mexico).

Machupicchu stands out for its impressive and enigmatic architecture built on a mountain with large blocks of stone that captivate visitors.

In addition to touring the captivating Inca construction that survives time, Forbes recommends its readers to visit the City of Cusco, capital of the most important pre-Hispanic empire in South America.

In this sense, the magazine considers that Machupicchu is the ideal destination for culture lovers and history buffs, as well as adventure seekers.

For its part, Andina news agency suggests visitors to enjoy its imposing pre-Columbian monuments, churches and colonial mansions, archeological sites, as well as its crafts and succulent cuisine, which will be an unforgettable experience for families, couples, groups of friends, or lonely travelers.

JACARANDA – THE OTHER NATIONAL FLOWER THAT INVADES BUENOS AIRES CITY IN THE SPRING

November is a month excitedly awaited by the local ‘porteños’ and the tourists alike, since they get the chance to come to the city and see one of its natural wonders occur: the blooming of the jacaranda trees. This tree’s blossom was once nearly named Argentina’s National Flower, but the ceibo tree flower won instead after this was submitted to a vote. Nonetheless, the jacaranda flower continues to be Buenos Aires’ flower, and the city turns blue/purple once a year thanks to it.

Who is responsible for the jacaranda expansion? To know the answer, we must go 120 years back in the past to cross paths with the French landscapist Carlos Thays (whose name is today honored in a park in Palermo). He transformed Buenos Aires visual physiognomy and made it what it is today. The city would look completely different and it wouldn’t be the same if it weren’t for Thays. Today, according to the last census, the city is home to 11.000 jacaranda trees.

It is only a short period of time that we have once a year to admire the incredible views of the jacaranda trees coloring the streets; but luckily, weather is extremely nice this time of the year. Everything is inviting us to go for a walk, sunbathe and live our days outside enjoying the fresh air, all meanwhile the jacarandas paint the sky purple blossom for us to admire. Time to enjoy!

All Glaciers Navigation Experience

This season, new sector is enabled in Los Glaciares National Park in the Spegazzini area, which can only be accessed with the navigation of the Solo Patagonia dealership. This sector will be accessed with the renewed navigation that we will call from now on “TODO GLACIARES” = All Glaciers (to distinguish it from the navigation Rios de Hielo Express, which has no trekking and is shorter).

The “TODO GLACIARES” navigation crosses the Icebergs Canal, visits the front of the Upsala Glacier, gets views of the Dry Glacier, Peineta and Heim, disembarking at the new Spegazzinni Base, from where you have panoramic views of the Glacier Bay. In this shelter you can have lunch, and from there take one of the two trekking trails specially designed to explore the area with incredible views.  “TODO GLACIARES” will operate on a daily basis (with return to El Calafate at approximately 5pm) while the alternative of Rios de Hielo Express will do so only on odd days (with return to Fte at approximately 3pm).

To all reservations already confirmed with Rios de Hielo, which at the time of booking did not have the option of this more complete circuit we can change them to TODO GLACIARES without additional charge; unless they express to us in a timely manner that they want to also maintain Ice Rivers, in the case of passengers who need to return earlier or have an outbound flight that same day.
